Upcoming:

- Some parks that normally do not allow hunting will close on certain days for deer hunts in Dec/Jan/Feb; i.e. Morris County Parks.

Remember...
- Be visible! Blaze orange for you and your dog
- Sundays are no hunting BUT some Wildlife Management Areas now allow Sun. bow-hunting

New: 2010 Harriman Map Set

NJ Hiking

Updated for 2010: The NY-NJ Trail Conference's Harriman and Bear Mountain Trails Map Set.

Harriman State Park is just over the NJ-NY border and has a TON of fantastic trails. And we do mean a ton - having the map set is highly recommended.

Tip: Pack a Headlamp

NJ Hiking

Days are getting shorter, so check sunset times and pack a small headlamp - just in case. Easier than using a flashlight.

Usually runs about $20 - well worth it in case you are caught on a darkening trail. Bonus uses... power outages, dark attics and crawlspaces.
